Lumen Christi College is a new Catholic Grammar School, which was established in 1997. The school buildings are set in 40-acre ground of lawn overlooking River Foyle. The pupils enjoy high reputation for academic excellence at GCSE and A-level; sciences include biology, chemistry, engineering and physics. Students have won All-Ireland competition in swimming and judo. The school provides extra-curricular activities including netball, swimming, golf and modern dance. Careers guidance deemed to be 'outstanding and exemplary'. Specialist science college status from 2006. Before-school care, from 8.30am; after-school care, until 4.30pm. Over-subscribed, with two applications per place. Ethos: 'The school aims to develop a caring atmosphere in which all pupils achieve their academic, social, personal and spiritual potential.' .
